Benfica stadium, also known as Da Luz Stadium, is one of the great football temples of Lisbon. On this self-guided tour, you'll discover, at your own pace, the history of the club and visit its museum.

Tour Details

At the time of your choice, you'll have to make your way to Gate 17, just behind the statue of footballer Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, to start this tour of Benfica Stadium. Once inside, you'll scan the QR codes throughout the route at the points of interest in the stadium. By doing so, you'll get all the information you want about the stadium. If you have any further questions, the staff will be able to help.

You can start the self-guided tour by going up to the first floor of the stadium. Here, you'll see various models of both the old and the new football ground of Benfica, one of Lisbon's two great teams. In fact, it's currently the club with the most leagues in Portugal.

You'll continue your tour of the Da Luz stadium, as Benfica's home ground is also known, visiting other parts of the stadium, such as the Sagres Court and the NX lounge, the changing rooms, the Eagle Room and the press room.

In addition, you'll enter the tunnel leading to the pitch to feel the same excitement that footballers experience before the start of a match. You'll also discover which great football legends have stepped onto the pitch and made football history! You'll have all the time you like at your favourite sections of the stadium!

Benfica Cosme Damião Museum Visit

If you wish, you can complete the experience with a tour of the Benfica Cosme Damião Museum. On this tour, which lasts an hour and a half and is free, you'll be able to see the trophies won by Benfica throughout its history. Among them, the two European Cups won by the club in 1961 and 1962 stand out.

During your visit to the museum, you'll also see Benfica's historic shirts, as well as footballs, flags and other objects related to the history of the Lisbon club.

Museum Tour

The tour of the museum is free and without a guide. However, throughout the tour, the exhibition staff will be able to answer your questions in English and Portuguese.

The museum is open from Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, so you can visit the museum at the time that suits you best. From July to September, the museum is open from 10 am to 7 pm.

Please Note

  • On days when there are league matches, the stadium tour only takes place in the morning.
  • On days when there are international matches, the stadium tour does not take place, but the museum will remain open.
